Indian Almond Leaves (Terminalia catappa):
Indian almond leaves, or IAL, help treat bacterial and fungal infections with axolotls, bettas, crayfish, shrimp, and more. They release tannins into the water, which impede the growth of most fungi and bacteria.
They will lower pH in tanks, especially if they're not buffered.
Indian almond leaves and shrimp are a good mix! Shrimp will love the enrichment and water conditions.
They'll provide leaf litter in the tank, allowing fish, amphibians, and invertebrates to hide in or under them, promoting enrichment and comfort.
If the leaves are unsightly, they can be boiled to create an IAL tea.
There are damaged Indian almond leaves for sale at a slightly cheaper rate here.
